The Department of Student Services provides a wide range of support services and programs for students and families in the district as well as for staff members. The guiding principle of the department is to support the creation of learning environments where all students, children and adults, can be successful learners and perform at an optimal level.
The Student Services team assists in the delivery of special education services, transition services that help students and families as they move from one setting to another, connections to community support services, counseling services, assistance to students and their families in accessing services to meet health needs, and programs for adult learners.
The department continues to work diligently to enhance the ability of all employees to provide a strong educational program for every student. Student Services offers training focusing on classroom management, assessment of emotional and behavioral needs of students, development of written plans that help students strive to reach behavioral, emotional and social goals, and management of current health issues that might impact a student’s ability to achieve.
