Dear Rosa Parks parents/guardians and students,
Welcome back to another new and exciting school year. Once again we will build on the stability of the staff to improve student achievement. This year we will continue with our new math series, building wide discipline plan, recess before lunch, and breakfast in the classroom.
Student achievement continues to be the main focus at Rosa Parks. In an effort to address our academic concerns, grades 3-5 will departmentalize for Math, Language Arts, and Social Sciences. In order for us to reach our ultimate academic goals, we still NEED you to become involved, support the teachers, get students here on time everyday, and communicate with the school. It is imperative that students who ride the school bus follow all rules and regulations in order to maintain that privilege. In an attempt to make our school safer, we will take a strong stance against bullying and physical altercations. Maintaining a well-disciplined school cannot happen through our efforts alone. In order for our teachers to be most effective, we need your help. Teacher Requests
I have received several requests from parents to have their son/daughter placed in a particular teacher's classroom. As much as we would like to accommodate all requests, it's simply impossible. In order to keep EVERY classroom balanced with boys/girls, high/lows, black/whites, behavior issues, and special needs students we cannot honor those requests. We are asking that you trust the process we have in place to create class lists. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated with this matter. Calendar Events:
