Dear Parents and guardians, I want to welcome everyone to the new 2009 2010 school year at Wildwood. I am proud to be a part of the Wildwood Family and to be working with our kids. Safety and achievement is our focus this year at our school. Volunteers at Wildwood are always welcome and we encourage you to take part in a child's education. If you are available to assist, please contact your child's teacher. Our successes are enriched by parent involvement. A new development this year comes from the The District Wellness Committee, This committee is encouraging parents to send in healthy snacks or treats for class parties and birthday celebrations. We are delighted that we can say every student at Wildwood gets a free breakfast every morning. Parents, You will have access to the online Lunch Pre-pay program this year. You will need to know your child's six-digit school ID number. If your child does not know it, you may get this from the teacher or by calling the office. A letter will be sent home from the Treasurer's Office with complete details during the first week of school.
You might like to know that applications for student accident and health insurance are available in the school office. We hope you will consider this low cost opportunity. Contact Mary in the office for more information. (513-420-4564) Concerns about the swine flu have led to many questions and concerns by parents and teachers. Our nurse, Mrs. Sally Kash, is intervening with preventative measures against any kind of colds, flues, and viruses.. Our staff will discuss with students the importance of hand washing and covering mouths when we cough or sneeze. Please feel free to send in hand sanitizers and extra disinfecting wipes for the students to use. We appreciate all the help! Wildwood is a Title One school. We receive federal monies based on free and reduced lunch numbers. The money provided by Title One enhances teacher professional development and learning opportunities for our children. To learn more about our "schoolwide program," stop in the office anytime. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 513-420-4564. Parents and guardians and grandparents are always welcome to visit their child's classroom. Sincerely, Jim Thomas
