It is my pleasure to welcome you to Middletown Middies Athletics! We look forward to our many exciting athletic events throughout the year. Our Middies student-athletes will engage in exciting contest with the best interscholastic competition in Southwest Ohio, and throughout the state of Ohio.
We are blessed to offer quality education-based athletics, as a co-curricular school activity in conjunction with the Ohio High School Athletic Association. We will work hard to promote that the members of each of our Middies athletic teams will always conduct themselves with character, commitment, and a true sense of good sportsmanship.
With that important idea in mind, we again remind you of the need for members of the Middies Family to promote and observe the important values of good sportsmanship. The behavior exhibited both on the playing field and in the stands, is a reflection of our school and community. Be a good sport!
Middletown City School District Athletic Philosophy
Interscholastic athletic activities in the Middletown City School District are considered to be an integral part of the school’s educational program. A variety of experiences are provided to aid the student athlete’s mental, physical, social, and emotional development. Development of favorable habits and attitudes will better prepare the student athlete for adult life in a democratic society. Promoting involvement in the interscholastic athletic program at all levels of participation instills pride, reinforces a sound value structure, and enhances the individual’s self-image as well as the image of the school district and community.
Since Middletown student-athletes represent their school and their community wherever they go, they must have a clear understanding that participation in athletics is a privilege that requires additional responsibility and sacrifice. Our goal is to succeed in athletics while maintaining acceptable educational and behavioral standards for our student-athletes.
