The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team had their 3rd close match in a row, and it came down to the last Baker game to determine the winner!

The scores that were posted in game 1 were decent, with the team shooting 888 total, but the rails came off and they dropped 153 pins for game 2 for a 730.

Leading man today for the Middies was Sophomore Brent Shaw who was on fire when the match started, as he came out with an awesome 212, the backed it up with a 153! Sophomore Harlynn Davis rolled a 171 & a 151, for a 322 series, which is the same total that his teammate Senior Eddie Pritchard had that included a high game of 179! Next in line was Junior Ethan Isaac with his games of 166 & 151, and Junior Riley Pritchard rolled a 160!

The boys were up by 50 pins after the first regular game, but once they finished game 2, they were instantly down by 77 pins going into the Baker round. The team has been in the same situation for all 3 matches this season, down after game 2 and having to fight back.

They were able to throw a 172 & then a 154, which cut the lead down to 57 pins. For game 3, they fired off an awesome 193, which put them just 18 pins back! But with too many missed spares in the 4th Baker, they shot a 171, finishing just 22 pins behind the Wildcats. Great try on the comeback! You almost had them!

The Middies are 2-1 overall, and remain 2-0 in the GMC. They will now travel to Rollhouse Lanes to take on Fairfield for another GMC battle this Friday. Start time is set for 4:00pm, barring any weather issues.
