Girls Varsity Bowling member Emma Kruse competed in the Southwest District Championship bowling tournament on Thursday at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek.

The top 24 teams and top 24 individuals, not on those teams, qualify for Districts by being the top teams and bowlers at the Sectionals Championship from last week. She qualified for districts with a 507 series at Crossgate Lanes!

The District Championships are very competitive as each team and individual bowlers are fighting for a spot to advance to the State Championship in Columbus next week. To make it, you must knock down as many strikes as possible and pick up your spares. The format for individual bowlers is 3 regular games. The teams also bowl 3 regular games and then add on 6 Baker games. We then have to wait until the end of the tournament to see which 5 teams and 5 individual bowlers qualified for State.

Emma lucked out and got to bowl with another local team from Eastern Lanes, Lebanon. Their bowlers were very supportive of Emma and cheered her on the whole time! She also has a good friend that bowls for Lebanon. This can alleviate some of the stress that everyone experiences in this type of environment and competition.

Emma threw games of 125, 157, and 172, for a 454 series. Unfortunately, the cut to advance was 603. We would like to congratulate Emma on having a great season and for making it to the Districts Championship as an individual!

Great job Emma!
