The Middletown Girls Varsity Bowling team won their first match of the season by defeating the Franklin Wildcats in their match today at Eastern Lanes!

Now, to put it into perspective, as you can see in the total score comparison that there is a large difference. The reason is that Franklin only has 3 bowlers on the girls varsity team, and when they have to go up against any other team that has 5 bowlers, their chances of winning are slim. We know that because we've been in the same situation with our JV teams in the past, and we were the ones with lesser bowlers.

However, our girls tried their best and bowled like they were bowling against an opponent with a full team. Leading the Lady Middies today was Junior Emma Kruse, who started off with a great game of 166 and finished with a 135! Sophomore Kaitlyn Kincer, who has switched over to 2-handed, shot games of 115 & 119! And Sophomore Braelyn Bates was close to her teammate when it came to scores after throwing a 110 and a 116!

The team was up by over 300 pins going into the Baker round. When a team is missing bowlers, for each frame of a missing bowler, the team is given a 0 for that frame, so unfortunately, Franklin had to take zeroes in 4 frames in each Baker game, which also didn't give them a chance to come back. Our girls bowled games of 114, 124, 129, and 113! Congrats to the girls team!

The Lady Middies record improves to 1-8 overall, and remains at 0-6 in the GMC. They will take a road trip on Friday to Madison Bowl in Cincinnati where they will face Summit Country Day. Start time is set for 4:00pm. We would love to see you there!
