The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team won a tough match on Friday against Summit Country Day at Madison Bowl in Cincinnati!

The boys did well overall and won the match, but it could have so much better than the results. We found out early that the lanes were not oiled, which kept our boys struggling to keep the ball on a path to the pocket, overhooking the whole time, and made picking up spares even harder. They came out strong the first regular game with a 925 total, but fell in game 2 when the lanes got even harder.

High man leading the Middies was Junior Riley Pritchard, who tore up the already dry lanes with an amazing 241, which is his highest of the season so far! He finished with a 193 average! Awesome job! Senior Eddie Pritchard rolled 2 games of 178 and 157! Sophomore Harlynn Davis was also on fire in his first game with a very nice 192! Freshman Ben Bales threw a good game himself with his 169, and Junior Ethan Isaac was right behind him with a 163!

The boys were up by 35 pins after game #1, but could not keep the momentum going and fell to 68 pins behind after game 2. We will say that their opponent bowled their highest games and total series (355 pins higher than average) for the season, which helped them move ahead of the Middies before the Baker round.

Our team had some ground to make up, and with 4 Baker games to roll, they were determined to do their best and steal the win. They put together scores of 189 & 171, and half way through the round, the match was dead even! That fired our boys up even more and they came out with a very nice 212 and a 178 to take victory by 90 pins! Great teamwork!

Their overall record increases to 6-3 overall, and remains at 4-2 in the GMC. Next up is the annual Colerain Classic tournament on Sunday at Northwest Lanes. Start time is set for 9:00am. Hope to see you there!
