The Middletown Girls Varsity Bowling team lost their match yesterday to the #1 team in the GMC, the Oak Hills Highlanders, at S&S Western Bowl in Cincinnati. The Lady Middies were short 1 bowler, but when the opposing players are bowling 180-200 each, there's not much you can do.
High bowler for our team was Sophomore Kaitlyn Kincer, who fired off a very good game of 160 in her 2-game set! Sophomore Braelyn Bates rolled 2 good games of 122 & 100! And Senior Harley Bailey threw a good game also of 124!
The girls were penalized in the Baker round because according to OHSAA rules, if a bowler is missing and you do not have 5 bowlers for Bakers, you must take a zero for both frames of the missing bowler. So the teams scores were lower than normal. We also were cut off due to time restrictions, so the match was limited to 2 Baker games. The girls posted games of 90 & 103.
The teams overall record falls to 1-10 overall, and 0-7 in the GMC. They come back home on Friday at Eastern Lanes for a match against Badin, which has a start time set at 3:30pm. Please come out and cheer on your Middies to victory! They would love to see you there!
GO MIDDIES!
