The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team lost their home match on Wednesday to the undefeated Mason Comets at Eastern Lanes.
Our boys knew that they needed to have their best series of the season and hope that their opponent did not bowl like they have been. The Comets did their part in that they had one of the lowest overall scores so far, but the Middies just couldn't capitalize on it.
High man for the day was Senior Eddie Pritchard after shooting games of 153 & a very nice 191! Next in line was Sophomore Harlynn Davis, who threw a 160 & a 165! With similar scores and only 4 pins behind his teammate was Junior Riley Pritchard with scores of 160 & 165! And Junior Ethan Isaac busted out the highest game for the team, and his highest game of the season, with an awesome score of 225!
The Middies were only behind by 35 pins after game 1, due to a low game and Mason struggling big time. Unfortunately for us, the wheels fell off in game #2, dropping 51 pins lower than game 1, and their opponent got back in their normal groove and scored 115 pins higher. So, that put our boys back 237 before the Baker round. Missing spares was our downfall.
The boys had a lot of ground to make up, but they could only muster up games of 179, 173, 160, & 172.
The boys' record drops to 7-5 overall, and 4-4 in the GMC. They head back to Eastern again on Thursday for their 2nd match in a row as they face Middletown Christian at home. We are set to start at 3:30pm. Hope to see you there!
GO MIDDIES!
