The Middletown Girls Varsity Bowling team lost to Sycamore in a close match on Wednesday at Eastern Lanes in their last GMC contest of the season.
Leading the girls by scores was Junior Emma Kruse when she rolled a 125 for game 1 and then threw a good score of 158 for game 2! Sophomore Kaitlyn Kincer increased her average again by shooting games of 134 and a 128! Senior Harley Bailey bowled her highest game of the season with a 128 also! Sophomore Braelyn Bates posted a score of 111, and Freshman Allison Pritchard had a 107!
The girls were down by 150 pins going into the Baker round, but that did not stop them from trying to steal the win from the Aviators before the end of the match! The Lady Middies came out and put together a 124, 125, and a 146, closing the gap to just 99 pins, but due to time restrictions, they were not allowed to bowl a 4th game and the match unfortunately came to an end. Great try girls!
Before the match, we had our Senior Night ceremony, and we got to recognize our 1 and only Senior on the team, Harley Bailey! We want to wish her all the luck in her future endeavors and we will miss you once the season is officially over!
The teams' record drops to 2-13 overall, and finishes at 0-9 in the GMC. Their match against Carlisle for Thursday has been canceled due to their opponent having to make-up a conference match because of the weather last week. We are trying to reschedule the match. If it is not rescheduled, the girls will head to the GMC Conference Clash tournament on Saturday, February 14th at Rollhouse Lanes!
GO MIDDIES!
