The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team beat Sycamore in their final GMC match of the season at Eastern Lanes on Wednesday in an exciting match to be remembered!

The teams were evenly match in terms of regular game team average and Baker game average. After game #1, the Aviators were in the lead by 25 pins. This was mainly due to their best bowler throwing an awesome game of 268! But the tables were turned and the Middies took the lead after game #2 to go ahead by the same amount of 25 pins! Let's go!

High scorer for our boys with a 204.5 average on the day was Sophomore Harlynn Davis, shooting a 173 to start and then firing off an amazing 236 to end his set! Way to go Harlynn! Junior Ethan Isaac wasn't standing around watching when he came out of the gate strong with a very nice game of 205, and then backed it up with a 168! Great job! Senior Eddie Pritchard rolled 2 good games himself after throwing a 167 and a 155! Junior Riley Pritchard was pretty consistent with his 2 games of 156 & 151, and Junior Brent Shaw posted a 161 to help the team take the lead going into the Baker round!

Being ahead by only 25 pins with 4 Baker games to go is not hard for your opponent to overcome. The boys knew that they had to step it up if they wanted to walk away with the win. And that they did when they came out storming with a 201 and then a 175! They were now up 117 pins at this point, but dropping a 131 for game #3 shortened their lead down to just 76 pins. But then our Middies put on a clinic in game #4, where they had 8 strikes in a row and finished with an incredible 258 to finish the round and win the match by 173 pins! Fantastic job boys!

Before the match, we had our Senior Night ceremony, and we got to recognize our 1 and only Senior on the team, Eddie Pritchard! We want to wish him the best of luck in his venture off to college and he hopes to make the bowling team! We will miss you once the season is officially over!

The boys' record improves to 9-5 overall, and goes to 5-4 in the GMC. Their match against Carlisle for Thursday has been canceled due to their opponent having to make-up a conference match because of the weather last week. We are trying to reschedule the match, but if that doesn't happen, they will next be on the lanes at the GMC Conference Clash tournament on Saturday, February 14th at Rollhouse Lanes!
